One of the Trans icons just wrote in her blog “…having an opportunity to share and BE in our big, happy community….” She must be living in a different world from me; what big happy community? It may be a big happy community if you are one of the elite and can constantly write about flying off to some conference, but for the majority of the transsexuals in this world, it is anything but a big happy community. Let’s visit my local support group for a minute. The only time I hear from any of them is when they want some free work from me. I can send emails to them and leave voice mail and I never get a return. When I ask some of the professionals in the group if I could use them for a reference on a job application, I quickly got their backs.

I am living at a poverty level. I am just surviving and mostly by the graces of sister number one and she doesn’t even like the idea that I am living as Kimberly. I feel really low accepting food from her, but I need her help. Recently I broke the window on my car because I panic when I locked the keys in my car. It was a stupid thing to do. I didn’t have the money to pay for the window so I begged here, and on 360, as well in my so called support group. I asked for a dollar, just one little dollar. I got the sum total of zero dollars from our big happy community. However, my sister got her husband to use one of his favors to get me a big discount on a used window. This is the sister that doesn’t even like the idea that I am living as Kimberly.

If the Trans icons want to really do something for the “community” they will stop flying around the country, stop getting paid to go on soaps, stop all the bullshite they are doing and instead of wasting the fucking money, set up some trust funds to either help us transition, or help us to get decent employment instead of having to “do” some nasty old man in a back alley. Just stop pretending to be for the “community” when you are only for your self!
